– We are pleased that we, as a small country, have the opportunity to be the first to commercially launch the new Falcon cooker, says Victoria Mediaa.

She represents the distribution companies Falcon Norway AS and MT Nordic AS, which operate from their base in Raufoss Industripark, and have their own showrooms at Lysaker. The company has specialised in the distribution of technical equipment and ventilation solutions for over 15 years, and is the exclusive distributor of Falcon Rangecookers in Norway, PlasmaMade and Falmec in Norway and Sweden, and Kaelo in Norway, Sweden, and Denmark.

The trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen meets her together with her husband Eskil Mediaa, who is the managing director of the companies, in connection with the launch of Tiny Luxury House. This is a project initiated by interior designer and social media influencer, Annette Nordstrøm. Falcon Norway and MT Nordic are among the suppliers she has collaborated with, and they are represented, among other things, with a new Falcon range cooker, which is being shown outside England for the first time.

Production in England

– This also marks that Falcon, the world's oldest cooker manufacturer, is heavily investing in production in its home country England, with a new production line. We have received the first cooker from this line, delivered directly to us before it is launched internationally, says Victoria Mediaa.

A range cooker is a larger, freestanding cooker, with two or more oven compartments and a hob with multiple heat zones or gas burners in one unit.

Victoria Mediaa says that Falcon has been manufacturing cookers since 1830, with the first commercially available model showcased at the World Exhibition in Paris.

– It revolutionised cooking in Europe with multiple oven compartments, a hob, a hot water tank, and coal firing. Falcon remains true to its original philosophy. The cookers are easy to use, without touch functions, and have multiple oven compartments that allow for baking, roasting, and grilling simultaneously. You can make sauce on the hob while preparing the rest of the meal. This is a product that becomes the heart of the home, she says.

Falcon is a talking point

Falcon's cookers cost between 70,000 and 130,000 kroner.

– Who buys these?

– It's often interesting personalities. The Falcon family consists of food enthusiasts who want to cook multiple dishes at once and have a reliable kitchen partner for many years, says Victoria.

– There are many professional chefs who have these at home, and several Michelin restaurants also use Falcon. The brand has become a talking point in the industry, not least because it offers great value for money, says Eskil Mediaa.

– How does Falcon compare price-wise to built-in solutions?

– When you compare the elements of a built-in solution – oven compartments, steam, hob, and grill – with a Falcon cooker, Falcon comes out well, says Eskil.

In a house of 49 square metres, the extractor fan should not be a source of noise

The model MT Nordic is showcasing in Vestby is called Estelle Deluxe, in the colour mint. It is 110 cm wide, with details in antique brass, and costs 100,000 kroner.

Falcon is part of the Middleby group, which also includes Swedish AGA and French La Cornue.

– Falmec is a family-run company with over 40 years of experience. They have developed the Noise Reduction System (NRS) in collaboration with the University of Padua, which significantly reduces noise. The Gruppo NRS model has a noise level down to 37 decibels at 220 cubic airspeed. The motor has a capacity of 800 cubic, and the fan has dimmable LED lighting and good grease filters, says Eskil Mediaa to the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.

The price is 23,000 kroner.

– How important is low noise in a project like Tiny Luxury House?

– Very important. In a house of 49 square metres, the extractor should not be a source of noise, says Eskil.

Drink cooler from Kaelo

The company's latest product in the tiny house is a drink cooler from Kaelo, developed in England.

– The product came about when the founder Kevin was sitting in a pub and noticed that the beer was getting warm. He wanted to create a cooler that could keep the drink perfectly tempered without taking up space on the table. Kaelo can be integrated into furniture, has temperature adjustment and various cooling modes, and works for up to three hours, says Victoria.

She is shown how the cooler is operated by touching the brass ring. The price is 15,000 kroner.

MT Nordic has seven employees and primarily sells through kitchen retailers.

– In addition, we often invite interior architects, designers, and customers to our product exhibition at Lysaker, where we can show more models and delve into the technical details, says Victoria Mediaa.
