Elektronikkbransjen Trade Magazine – About Us
The Elektronikkbransjen trade magazine was founded in 1937 and is published by the industry association Stiftelsen Elektronikkbransjen.
The magazine covers a wide range of topics within consumer electronics and technology, including audio and video, major and small domestic appliances, telecommunications, computing, IT and gaming equipment, photography and video, health and wellness products, musical instruments and equipment, smart products and micromobility. The magazine aims to give readers an up-to-date overview of the latest products and industry trends, as well as analyses and commentary on what drives developments in the sector.
An important editorial area is the various parts of the value chain and their interaction, including workshops, service and aftermarket, retailers, retail chains, online operators, manufacturers, suppliers, distributors, return companies and reuse. These groups also make up the magazine’s readership.
Elektronikkbransjen also covers the activities and projects carried out by Stiftelsen Elektronikkbransjen, including legal issues, training courses, industry sales figures, and the subsidiaries Norsirk and OmBrukt.
In addition to the print edition, published six times a year, Elektronikkbransjen also provides an online edition offering even more content and updates. The website is updated weekly, and the main update is shared in a newsletter sent out at ten to ten on Tuesdays. All past editions are available in a searchable archive going back to the very first issue from 1937, and the site receives 12,500 monthly visitors.
Every year since 2004, the Elektronikkbransjen trade magazine has selected the Christmas Gift of the Year, and since 2006 it has also named the Product of the Year in several categories. The awards are announced each November at a dedicated event in Oslo.
The magazine aims to serve as a link between stakeholders in the industry, providing updated information on developments in the market, including competition, technologies and regulatory conditions. The publisher, Stiftelsen Elektronikkbransjen, is owned by its members.
Elektronikkbransjen, together with its website and newsletter, is an important advertising channel for industry actors, reaching those who actually sell the products. The editorial section of elektronikkbransjen.no and the Elektronikkbransjen magazine is edited independently in accordance with the Norwegian Editors’ Code and the Code of Ethics of the Norwegian Press.
The magazine was founded in 1937 by the Norwegian Radio Retailers’ Association (NRL), and has since expanded its editorial scope in line with technological development and changes in the structure of the owning organisation. Over the years, the magazine has had the following names:
Radiohandleren (1937–1959)
Radio-TV (1960–1963)
Radio/TV-bladet (1964–1972)
