- Profiles are more than just a new feature. This is an important step towards a more personal and family-oriented Allente experience, and a result of collaboration across teams, platforms, and markets, says Charlotte Hedegaard Kristensen, product owner at Allente, in a press release from Allente.

On several platforms, the new solution has already been rolled out, while Allente's TV boxes will be included at a later stage.

According to the press release, the goal is a more personal and family-friendly streaming experience, where each member of the household receives their own recommendations.

Profiles and children

Each profile can have a coloured avatar, name, and personal content preferences, so the app feels tailored from the first login. At the start, the user encounters their own profile page, where colour, name, and any child profile are selected; the app remembers the choices and adjusts the content accordingly. Allente plans, according to the press release, to add character avatars later, and the company is building a streaming experience with tailored recommendations for all ages.

The Nordic entertainment distributor Allente is owned by Viaplay Group, and offers TV and streaming services via satellite and broadband to nearly one million customers in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, and Finland. The company was established in May 2020 following the merger of Canal Digital and Viasat Consumer, and has headquarters in Stockholm and Oslo.
