– We are the world's largest PC manufacturer, and have good synergies when we develop mobile phones, tablets and PCs for the consumer and business markets.
That is what Stig Myklebust, responsible for Lenovo's consumer products in the Nordics and Baltics, says.
We meet him in the first week of March at Lenovo and Motorola's joint exhibition area at the MWC mobile fair in Barcelona, together with Stine Jespersen, the new Nordic head at Motorola. The two describe a close collaboration between the brands and a plan to strengthen their position in the Nordics with new products in various price ranges.
– What would you highlight as the most important from MWC?

– We have the breadth, from mobile to PC and server. This gives us momentum in development and value in the market, says Myklebust.
– We work closely and have many common customers. We are building bridges and collaborating closely, says Jespersen.
Myklebust says the combination of PC and mobile offers advantages in component purchasing, development, and innovation.
– Lenovo has been in the PC market longer than Motorola in mobile. We bought Motorola just over eleven years ago. Now we are ready to grow with Motorola, to take larger positions, both in the private and business markets, says Myklebust.
Jespersen says the new mobile models are well-suited for the Nordic market. She highlights that Motorola emphasises the overall feel of the product, where they have a close collaboration with partners on material choices, sound, and colours to enhance the user experience.
Among the mobile news in Barcelona is the fold model Motorola Razr Fold.
– In May, a FIFA edition will also be released, where you get a ticket to the World Cup in Mexico included. This model will be sold exclusively in our own online store, says Jespersen.
Another news is the Signature series.
– It has the same camera as the Fold model, both with DxOMark Gold certification, says Jespersen.

DxOMark is an independent French test laboratory that measures image quality, sound, screen, and battery in smartphones and cameras, with quality marks Gold, Silver, and Bronze.
– Signature is our best mobile. The camera setup has 50 megapixels on all camera lenses, with good performance in low light, says Jespersen.

She says Motorola has a wide range in the mobile portfolio.
– We are in all segments, with a particular focus on the higher price ranges. The mobiles have seven years of updates, which is unique, says Jespersen.
A third mobile news is the Motorola Edge 70 Fusion.
– This series also comes in several variants, including a FIFA model. We focus on different textures and durability. This model is built to military standards and is very durable, says Jespersen.
Motorola Mobility, which is the name of Lenovo's mobile division, has its headquarters in Chicago, Illinois. Lenovo has its global headquarters in Beijing, operational headquarters in Morrisville, North Carolina, and is registered in Hong Kong.
Myklebust says they are continuing the security experience they have from PC to mobile.
– It is important for business customers to know that data is secure when the mobile is used as a tool, says Myklebust to the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.

The Moto Watch smartwatch is also shown in Barcelona.
– This is developed in collaboration with Polar. It provides health features, updates, and services, and the price will be around 1,500 Norwegian kroner, says Myklebust.
On the audio side, he points to a closer collaboration with Bose.
– We are coming with speakers with wifi and Bluetooth, with charging docking for use at home and outside. We tune the sound together with Bose, and the first model is called Moto Sound Flow, says Myklebust.

Moto Pen Ultra is an active pen that needs to be charged.
– It is supported by certain models, such as Razr Fold. You can take notes and draw, and it comes with its own charging sleeve, says Myklebust.

- We have added several microphones that listen to the surroundings, and connected AI that filters out noise. It recognises your voice and removes sounds around, says Myklebust.
He also shows some PC news.
- IdeaPad Slim 5i Ultra is in the mid-range. It is very light and thin, with a 14-inch screen, says Myklebust.
Yoga Pro 7a is made for creative work.
- The larger touchpad provides better precision, and also has a built-in drawing surface where you can use a pen, which unleashes creativity in a whole new way. The screen is calibrated for 'clear color', so the colours you see are correct, says Myklebust.
Yoga 9i Aura Edition is an all-in-one machine, where the screen rests on a transparent light bar.
- It is made to look good, with an ultra-sharp 4K OLED screen and the latest CPU and memory. A work tool for those who want everything in one place, says Myklebust.
