TCL highlights SQD-MiniLED LCD as its most important TV investment of the year, believing the technology provides better brightness and contrast.
– We have improved MiniLED technology and made the TVs slimmer. A blue backlight passes through a filter, giving us much higher brightness, says TCL marketing manager Sebastian Skarp when we meet him before the summer at Elkjøp’s Campus Tech training fair at Gardermoen.
The technology is central to several of this year’s models, including the flagship X11L, which Skarp believes fully demonstrates how far the technology has come.

– The flagship X11L delivers up to 10,000 nits, with around 20,000 dimming zones. This provides better control of light bleed, no halo effect, better contrast, a sharper image and better colour reproduction, Skarp tells trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.

The X11L was shown at IFA last year, where, according to Skarp, the model won the award for best TV.
At Campus, the model is displayed in a 98-inch version priced at NOK 170,000.
In its 2026 portfolio, TCL operates with two different MiniLED platforms, with SQD-MiniLED (Super Quantum Dot Mini LED) being TCL’s newest and most advanced technology, and a further development of QD-MiniLED, including Super QLED, a new colour filter and more advanced light control.
Showcases RGB-MiniLED

TCL is also showcasing RGB-MiniLED, where each diode has its own colour: red, green or blue.
– Here we are showing the RM9L in 115 inches, a powerhouse with around 9,000 nits and approximately 16,000 colour zones, says Skarp.
The 115-inch model will be available later this year, priced at NOK 350,000. The series will also be available in sizes down to 85 inches.
– Which of these technologies does TCL have the greatest faith in?

– We have the strongest faith in SQD-MiniLED, but we also offer RGB-MiniLED in two series, says Skarp.
Art TV in several sizes

NXTVision, TCL's art TV concept, is being updated with QD-MiniLED in this year's A400 series.
– It has a matte screen to give the appearance of a genuine work of art, without reflections and glare, while still offering high brightness and good picture quality, says Skarp.

The series is being expanded with 32- and 43-inch models with QLED panels, as well as 85- and 98-inch models with QD-MiniLED.
– We have probably shaken up the market somewhat in this segment, which has been dominated by another player. The Nordic region is the largest market for this type of TV, and we are clearly gaining market share, says Skarp.
Google TV in all models
All TCL TV models are supplied with Google TV.
– In our opinion, it is the best operating system for TV. All apps are built in, so you do not need external devices. You can also use Google Cast, or AirPlay if you are an Apple user, says Skarp.
TCL is also showcasing its entry into the portable projector market.
– PlayCube is very bright, with a built-in speaker and impressive sound for its size. I am going to watch the FIFA World Cup on it against the house wall in the garden. We have great faith in it, says Skarp when we meet him before the summer.
PlayCube has a built-in battery with around three hours of use, and a recommended retail price of around NOK 11,000.
New monitors too
TCL is also strengthening its focus on monitors. Rodrigo Duran, the new Nordic sales manager for monitors and commercial displays, highlights the breadth of the range.
– We will cater to customers at every level, from entry-level models to premium. Wherever you are on your gaming journey, we will be able to deliver a display that suits you, Duran tells the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.

The company is launching its first OLED display, the 32X3A, with Audio by Bang & Olufsen.
– It is a stylish 32-inch OLED that fits into the home in terms of appearance, but also has specifications for gaming and use as an office monitor. It is primarily for PC, but you can of course connect an Apple TV if you wish, says Duran.
The recommended retail price is around NOK 12,000.
Two 4K monitors in one
TCL is also showing the 57-inch-wide 57R94 monitor.
– Many people work with two monitors. Here, you effectively get two 4K monitors in one. It is also perfect for a home flight simulator, offering a fantastic experience, says Duran.
The price range is NOK 20,000 to NOK 22,000.
– What is important to highlight is that we have monitors in all sizes, with adjustable stands for raising, lowering and tilting, and above all, performance. You get a lot of screen for a reasonable price, says Duran.
TCL is also showing digital information displays for Elkjøp employees for the first time.
– The plan is to start sales shortly, says Skarp.
