The lens weighs 998 g and is 12 mm shorter than its predecessor. It has internal zoom for stable balance, even when used on a gimbal. The image stabiliser provides up to 6 stops of compensation, and Synchro VR is supported by compatible Z cameras. The f/2.8 aperture is constant throughout the zoom range. Autofocus is upgraded with Silky Swift motors, providing up to 3.5 times faster AF and 50 percent less noise than the previous generation. The new optical construction uses fewer but more effective elements, including dual-sided aspherical elements, Super ED glass, SR glass, and mesoamorphous and ARNEO coatings. The minimum focusing distance is 0.38 m at 70 mm and 0.8 m at 200 mm. The lens features an 11-blade aperture, reduced focus breathing, a de-clickable control ring, and professional weather sealing. Price: 40,000 Norwegian kroner.
