Electrolux highlights multifunctionality as a key theme as the company presents its new products this autumn. The biggest attention-grabber is a new electric pizza oven that will also be able to replace several other kitchen appliances.
– What is special about this oven is that it is a pizza oven that can reach temperatures of up to 380 degrees, and it makes pizza the way an Italian pizza should be, says Hans Erik Standal.
We meet him in September at the IFA trade fair in Berlin, where he demonstrates the new oven. He emphasises the advantage offered by its wide range of uses.

– You do not just buy a pizza oven; you also get an air fryer and a conventional oven included. So here you really have everything in one, in a compact unit, Standal tells the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.

A shorter route to dinner
The idea of simplifying cooking recurs in several of Electrolux's new products this year. Among other things, the company is launching a new pasta function on selected hobs.

– We are trying to simplify people's everyday lives, and pasta is one of the most common dinner dishes. Our solution includes a hob with a special programme, a dedicated measuring cup and a pot adapted to the programme, says Standal.
The user fills the pot with pasta, water, pasta sauce and preferably a little salt and a drop of olive oil before starting the programme.
– You stir it around a little, put the lid on, start the programme and choose how many people you are cooking for, and then the dish cooks itself in 15 minutes, says Standal.

According to Electrolux, the system automatically regulates the temperature to deliver the right result.
– This is to prevent it from burning at the bottom and to ensure the pasta is al dente. If you want softer pasta, simply add a couple of minutes, says Standal.
Always ready

Electrolux is also showcasing the 900 Cordless cordless vacuum cleaner, which combines a charging station and an emptying station.

– This is not just an emptying station; it is an always-ready station. It also has accessories, charging for an extra battery if you have bought one as an accessory, and a filter readily available with a separate suction hose in the base for cleaning. The great thing about an emptying station is that the vacuum cleaner is always ready when you need to vacuum, and you do not have to empty it yourself, says Nina Lorentzen at Electrolux.
She believes many people underestimate the importance of filter maintenance.
– Emptying the filter is actually something consumers often forget. If the filter is clogged, there is too little airflow, and the vacuum cleaner performs poorly, she says.
With an extra battery in the charging station, Electrolux states that the 900 Cordless can be used for up to 180 minutes.

Less noise
On the white goods side, Standal highlights a new series of dishwashers with noise levels as low as 35 decibels.
– We have focused very strongly on being leaders in noise levels for our dishwashers. The new series has given us the opportunity to go all the way down to 35 decibels, he says.
To demonstrate the difference, the company has built a dedicated sound room at the IFA trade fair.
– It is very difficult to understand what 35 decibels means. That is why we have played different sound experiences throughout an evening, finally showing what 35 decibels actually is. It makes it a little easier to understand just how quiet this dishwasher really is, Standal explains.
Another new feature is 3D scanning in tumble dryers, where residual moisture is measured inside the garment.
– It measures the moisture deep inside the laundry. For example, in down jackets, the outer fabric typically dries very quickly, while the down is still damp. With this technology, the clothes are dried perfectly, so that everything becomes dry, says Standal.

He points to the difference between garments dried with and without the new technology.
– One side has been dried using the programme, and the down is as good as new. On the other side, the down is poorly distributed and often slips down, so you do not get the desired insulation effect. This applies not only to down jackets, but also to snowsuits, duvets and other filled items that can easily dry unevenly if you only measure the outer fabric and not the moisture inside, says Standal.
