Mobile phones are becoming increasingly expensive, but Xiaomi believes users are also placing greater demands on quality, battery life and durability. According to the Chinese company, the answer is the new Redmi Note 17 series, with the flagship Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G featuring the largest battery it has delivered in a smartphone in Europe.
The launch is taking place in Budapest on 16 September, and the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen has had its travel and accommodation paid for by Xiaomi.

– More than 500 million users around the world have chosen Redmi Note as a reliable companion in their everyday lives. To us, this means more than a number to be proud of. It represents the understanding we have of our users, an understanding we never take for granted, says Nicole Liu, Xiaomi's marketing director for the Nordic countries, Central and Eastern Europe, from the stage.

She believes the Redmi Note series is built on a simple philosophy.
– A good experience and accessible quality should be for everyone. But as mobile phone prices generally rise, users also expect more: better performance, higher quality and the latest technology. A simple upgrade is no longer enough, says Liu.

Largest battery
According to the marketing director, the biggest news in the series is the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G. The phone receives Xiaomi's new Titan quality, developed together with certification body TÜV SÜD, and combines water resistance, shock resistance and battery performance in a single, unified quality standard.

– Titan Quality brings together improved water and shock resistance, industry-leading battery performance and better after-sales service. Altogether, this makes the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G the most robust and accessible partner you can have, says Liu.

The phone has a 9,210 mAh battery, supports 100-watt HyperCharge and is said to offer up to three days of use on a single charge. Xiaomi states that the battery retains at least 80 per cent of its capacity after 1,000 charging cycles, equivalent to around six years of use.
– Five per cent battery, and you start to panic. That is why battery performance has been the biggest concern for our users, says Liu.
Both the Redmi Note 17 Pro Max 5G and Redmi Note 17 Pro 5G are the first mobile phones to achieve TÜV SÜD's 5-star Titan Quality certification. The two models are rated IP66 and IP68 and certified for drops onto granite from heights of up to three metres.
– It proves that this is quality you can truly rely on, says Liu.

New design

On the Pro Max model, the Cloud Blush colour features a rear panel that changes from white to pink-orange when exposed to UV light.
– Titan quality is not only about protecting the device. It is also about looking after the user. Therefore, Titan quality also means better after-sales service. When something happens, we resolve it, says Liu.
