Elkjøp Norge increased turnover by almost NOK 1.1 billion in the 2025/26 financial year, while operating profit rose by 75 per cent.

– Our colleagues have done a fantastic job, and the results show that we are on the right track. We are proud, but we still have some way to go before we are where we should be – now we will continue to grow and become even more profitable, says chief executive Linda Frid Andresen in a press release dated 28 September.

It notes that Elkjøp Norge has a non-calendar financial year. From May 2025 up to and including April 2026, turnover totalled NOK 14.9 billion, an increase of 7.7 per cent. Like-for-like growth was 10 per cent, which is higher than the overall figure because the company has fewer stores than the previous year. Operating profit was NOK 142.5 million, up from NOK 81.5 million.

Happy staff make happy customers

– Over the past couple of years, Elkjøp Norge has made significant investments to facilitate further growth and profitability. At the same time, the company has adapted its operations and worked purposefully to build a good workplace, it says.

It notes that the company has slightly fewer, but stronger, stores.

– Job satisfaction is at its highest level ever measured, and customer satisfaction has also increased, writes Elkjøp.

– It is the people in the stores, warehouse and customer service department who create the customer experience. When colleagues thrive, customers notice it. It is as simple, and as demanding, as that, says Andresen.

– The way customers shop today clearly shows that the combination of online and physical stores works best. Online shopping is growing rapidly, while people still want to collect, see, receive help and shop in store. This makes us even more certain that omnichannel is the right way forward, and we plan to open a number of new stores in the years ahead, says the Norway manager.

The business market

The business market is one of Elkjøp Norway's most important focus areas going forward, according to the press release.

– The company has strengthened its sales teams and developed new systems to better serve business customers, and the more than 130 stores across the country are also an important sales channel for small and medium-sized businesses that need everything from mobile phones and PCs to kitchen equipment for the workplace, it says.

– Many customers know us from their private lives, but do not know that we can help them at work too. We are going to change that. We have worked systematically for several years, but there is still great potential – both in stores and through our business sales representatives, says Andresen.

World Cup fever and robots

According to the press release, Elkjøp Norway has had a strong start to the new financial year.

– This summer's FIFA World Cup gave TV sales a significant boost, and while people settled down in front of the TV, the robots took care of mowing the lawn in the garden, we read.

– We had to rub our eyes at the TV sales, both before and during the championship. Very many people also wanted to watch the matches on an even larger screen, and projector sales increased by as much as 350 per cent. The robots helped with the gardening, and sales over the summer increased by 300 per cent. It has been great fun to see colleagues in the stores welcoming everyone who stopped by. Immediately afterwards came the start of the school year, and then it was PCs, mobile phones, tablets and headphones that were in demand. This bodes well for the rest of the year, says Andresen.

Finally, it is assured that ambitions remain high.

– We do not take our position as market leader for granted. We will continue to invest boldly and earn the right for customers to choose us in the years ahead, says Andresen.
