– We are bringing all our gaming products together under the HyperX brand, which has a strong position and high recognition in the gaming community, says Stian Fosse.

He is key account manager for Elkjøp at HP Norway, and we meet him before the summer at Elkjøp's training fair, Campus Tech. Here, gaming PCs branded HyperX and Omen stand side by side, but going forward, HyperX will be the brand used.

– The name change is part of a combined initiative in which all gaming products for the consumer market are brought together under the HyperX brand, says Vibeke Nordlie, Nordic sales manager for the consumer market.

She says HP has a good and strong position in the Nordic retail market.

– Not only in PCs, but also in printers, and with HyperX in gaming products. We have held this position for many years, Nordlie tells the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.

Skilled employees

She emphasises the importance of Campus Tech, as the fair gives HP the opportunity to meet store employees and exchange experiences with them.

– Elkjøp is a very central player in the Nordic retail market, and Campus is the Nordic region's largest event for the retail trade, says Nordlie, continuing:

– Elkjøp is extremely concerned with having skilled employees in its stores. The fair is a fantastic opportunity for us to meet many people in one place, showcase the products and provide them with thorough training, she says.

The company also uses the gathering to receive feedback on its products.

Fun with technology

– We receive clear feedback on how they experience our products, what is good, and what they are missing, including in terms of training. Fortunately, there is a great deal of positive feedback, says Nordlie.

– What do the shop employees say on the positive side?

– They say they are very satisfied, and that they are having great success with the products in store, says Nordlie.

She appreciates meeting employees from across the organisation gathered together.

– It is great to be in a place like this, with so much energy and so many engaged people who enjoy good technology, Nordlie tells the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.
