The device has 50 percent more shared memory than the previous generation, up to 12 GB, and memory bandwidth of 120 GBps. The 16-core Neural Engine is three times faster than on the M1 and is optimised for AI features in iPadOS 26. iPad Air supports Wi-Fi 7 via the N1 chip and has a C1X modem in the Cellular models for up to 50 percent faster mobile data and lower energy consumption. The battery is stated to last all day. The model has advanced cameras, 5G support in the Cellular version, and compatibility with Apple Pencil Pro, Apple Pencil, USB-C, and Magic Keyboard.
