THE MOBILE BECOMES A CARD TERMINAL

Bleken Data launches solution that allows service technicians to take payment directly with their own mobile phone - without extra terminals.

During the White Goods Days on 7 November, Magnus Bleken, managing director at Bleken Data, will showcase a new feature in the company's Mab solution.

- What is new now is that field technicians can use their own mobile phone as a card terminal. They do not need an external bank terminal, iZettle or Vipps. Everything happens in one solution, says Bleken to the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.

The solution is integrated with Softpay from Denmark, which handles the payment itself.

- The advantage is lower costs. An own card terminal quickly costs 300-500 kroner a month, and the fees are higher with Vipps and iZettle. With Softpay, you pay a lower percentage to card acquirers, says Bleken.

For Mab users

The service is available to everyone who uses Mab today.

- It is not an external program, but part of our solution. You must have a Mab licence to use it, says Bleken.

The payment is made via NFC on the mobile, and the Softpay app is controlled by Mab.

- Mab sends a request to Softpay, which handles the payment and gives feedback to Mab. Then everything is recorded, says Bleken.

Bleken believes that 50-70 percent of his customers will adopt the solution.

- We have worked to make everything paperless and as efficient as possible. When the technician is already using the mobile for reporting and pictures, it is natural to take payment there as well, he says.
