Wellectronics has become Beurer Scandinavia after the German parent company became a 100 per cent owner on 1 April 2026.

Kristian Stark and Niklas Andersson head Beurer Scandinavia, which is responsible for the Swedish and Norwegian markets.

– It is fantastic to become part of the German Beurer family as a wholly owned subsidiary, says Kristian Stark.

Until 1 April 2026, Beurer owned only a minority stake in the company. The new ownership situation entails increased investment.

– More will now be invested, and we will build the Beurer brand in Sweden and Norway, says Stark.

He will continue as managing director of Beurer Scandinavia. So far, the only staffing change is that a new marketing manager has been appointed.

New online shop

A new online shop is also under development, in both Sweden and Norway, on a platform coming from Germany.

– Why did the German company choose to go 100 per cent into Scandinavia?

– Beurer sees great potential in the Nordic market, and therefore wants a stronger presence that secures the future, says Niklas Andersson.

In addition to supplying goods to the electrical specialist trade, the company has also distributed through all pharmacies in Sweden since 2019.

– We have taken the experience we have gathered over many years in Swedish pharmacies and transferred it to the Norwegian market. It has gone fantastically well, says Andersson.

Daylight therapy lamps

Among the products Beurer Scandinavia is showcasing when we meet them at the Elon Expo training fair in Örebro in the first week of May are daylight therapy lamps, a category in which the company has been active for a long time.

– What these lamps do is interrupt melatonin production. The human body works in such a way that in the evening we begin producing melatonin, making us sleepy and eventually causing us to fall asleep. Because we live at the latitudes we do, we have seasons that are very dark. This means that when we wake up in the morning, melatonin production is still ongoing. Natural daylight is supposed to interrupt this, but it fails to do so for several months of the year, says Andersson.

The daylight therapy lamps are classified as medical devices, which places strict requirements on them.

– There are fairly strict rules and regulations that must be complied with in order to place the product on the market, says Andersson.

Electric toothbrushes

The company launched electric toothbrushes at the IFA trade fair last year, and these are now in the shops.

– Retailers see this as a very interesting product, with good opportunities for profitability, says Stark.
