- We naturally have several important news items, says Magnus Nilsson at Samsung, when we meet him during the first week of January at the CES fair in Las Vegas.
The literally biggest news from the company is a 130-inch micro-RGB TV, which builds on the 115-inch model launched last autumn.
- The picture quality is fantastic, and we have received good reviews on the 115-incher. Now we are expanding the range with both smaller and larger models, says Nilsson.

The micro-RGB technology uses microscopic lights in red, green, and blue as backlighting, as opposed to traditional TVs, where the lights have one colour. The design is inspired by Samsung's first UHD model from 2013, called Timeless.

- It was then 85 inches. Now the design is back in a much larger version, says Nilsson.
The TV is shown in Las Vegas both with this design and in a wall-mounted frame with sound.
- We are investigating which solution the audience prefers before launch. It is still a few months until the sales start, says Nilsson.
The price of the 115-incher is around 300,000 Norwegian kroner, while the price of the 130-incher is not yet clear.

- This is a lot of money, but we have sold some of the 115-incher, says Nilsson.
Compared to the company's micro-LED, which is shown at CES in a new variant with image display on the sides, micro-RGB is almost for small change and count.

New OLED top model
Samsung is also launching a new top model in the OLED family, S99H, which replaces S95F.
- It has received a completely new design, which makes it very beautiful wall-mounted, with a plate that sits directly against the wall and acts as a kind of frame, says Nilsson.
The model gets access to Samsung ArtStore, so you can display art on the screen.

- We have previously had this on The Frame, micro-RGB, QLED and Neo QLED. Now it is also coming to OLED, says Nilsson.

The Frame and sizes
The Frame Pro, which became wireless last year, has so far been available in 65, 75 and 85 inches.
- Now we are adding a size of 55 inches, says Nilsson.
The Freestyle+ with AI
Samsung is launching the fourth generation of its portable projector, The Freestyle+.

- It is almost twice as bright as its predecessor, with 430 ISO lumens, and has received several smart features, says Nilsson.
Among other news are continuous autofocus, automatic adaptation to projection surface and compensation for patterns on walls and curtains.

- You can display an image on a patterned wallpaper, and the projector compensates, so the pattern almost disappears, says Nilsson.
In Las Vegas, he shows how the image adapts within a few seconds to a screen on a stand when the projector is aimed at it, and how the image, when displayed on a wavy curtain, becomes almost square.
- We have added a feature that makes the image smooth even on uneven surfaces, says Nilsson to the trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen.
According to a press release from Samsung, AI OptiScreen automatically optimises the image. The projector has a built-in 360-degree speaker and can be synchronised with soundbars via Q-Symphony.
Nilsson says that the possibilities for use are many.
- You can take it on holiday and display images on the ceiling of a hotel room, or use it in a motorhome or sailing boat, he says.
New speakers and soundbar
Samsung introduces two new wireless wifi speakers, Music Studio 5 and Music Studio 7, designed by Erwan Bouroullec. He was also behind the Samsung TV The Serif.
- The speakers work alone or in combination and can be set up as stereo or surround via the SmartThings app, says Nilsson.
You can combine different models in the same system, and from 2026, Q-Symphony will also be available for products from Samsung's sister companies Harman Kardon and JBL.
- This makes it possible to build flexible sound setups, says Nilsson.

In addition, a new soundbar is coming with four built-in bass elements, which will provide powerful sound without a separate subwoofer.
- Many want bass sound, but not a large subwoofer standing. This soundbar is the solution, says Nilsson.
The soundbar has a built-in gyro that registers how it is mounted and adjusts the sound channels automatically.
