The phones are equipped with a 6,500 mAh cobalt battery and support 100-watt hypercharging. According to Bilgic, this means the phone can be charged from zero to one hundred per cent in 40 minutes. The battery is designed to last a long time, with a stated lifespan of up to 1,600 charge cycles. It can also function as a power bank.

– The screen has a brightness of 3,200 nits, which makes it bright and perfect for filming and photography. The 200-megapixel camera allows the user to take pictures in Ultra HD resolution, says Bilgic.

Design and durability

Bilgic says the design is compact.

– The surface has a texture reminiscent of vegan leather, which contributes to the premium feel. Durability is a main focus for this year’s series, and the phones have a higher IP rating than previous models, he says.

The phone has integrated AI features that are free to use. One of these is AI Gravity Assistant, which analyses the surroundings in an image and expands it automatically.

– AI uses the surroundings in the image together with our AI engine to expand the image, so that the result looks completely natural, says Bilgic.

He recommends the Redmi Note 15 series for anyone who wants a durable, future-proof and fast phone that works well in everyday life.

– You are part of Xiaomi, but only use Redmi in the marketing of Redmi Note 15?

– That is correct. This is a Redmi series, with a lower price point, but we are also showing Xiaomi’s new flagship series, Xiaomi 17, where Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the absolute top model, says Bilgic.
