Glenn Arild Bekkerud and Power Årnes were the retailer of the year in Power both in 2025 and 2026. Now they are also the franchisee of the year, across all chains.

- Being awarded this prize is enormously significant. I was incredibly moved and happy. It means a lot that our work is being noticed outside the chain as well, says store manager Glenn Arild Bekkerud in a press release.

The prize was awarded on Wednesday, 18 March, during the Franchise Conference by Virke, Franchise Architect, and the Norwegian Franchise Association. The awards are pouring in for Bekkerud; in 2025, Power Årnes was also awarded the Service Prize in Nes municipality. Additionally, according to the press release, they can boast a Google score of 4.3 out of 5. The store manager highlights one main reason:

- We have always focused on the customer and try to provide that little extra every day. That's how we can stand out. And I am incredibly fortunate to have a fantastic team around me, says Bekkerud in the press release.

It further states that Power Årnes has seen significant development in recent years, with an increase in turnover from 22 million kroner in 2016 to 52 million in 2025.

20 million in two years

- In just the last two years, the growth has been 20 million kroner in the local store, according to the press release.

It is further noted that Power has both chain-owned and dealer-owned stores. The distribution in number is around 50/50. The leader of dealer-owned stores in Power, Anders Normandbo, believes it is no coincidence who won the franchisee prize.

– This is about culture, leadership and people. Power Årnes has skilled and loyal employees, high satisfaction and low turnover. This creates good customer experiences and good results, says Normandbo in the press release.

It is noted that the chain has recently experienced a significant increase in interest from new franchisees.

– In 2025, dealer-owned Power stores opened in Sandnes, Egersund, Evje, Kirkenes, Lyngdal and Rjukan. And more are on the way, writes Power.

– We are experiencing great interest from skilled, local players who want to join the journey. For those who are willing to put in the effort, there are good opportunities in Power, says Normandbo.
