- We are super proud to gather so many from the workshops and suppliers for a joint course and networking, says general manager Kjell Unes at Elesco Norway.

Modified

- The chain is 30 years old this year, and is better equipped than it has been for many years. We must mark this, and have among other things invited central retirees to the celebration, says chairman Christoffer Hamer.

The trade magazine Elektronikkbransjen meets them both at the Elesco gathering in Trondheim in September.

Divides the gathering into two parts

- We have a two-part gathering, a technical part for the technicians and an administrative part for the workshop managers, says Unes.

Elesco has invited its contract suppliers, who provide technical training and updates.

- For the administration, we offer updates in legal subjects, recycling, and data systems, says Hamer.

Some of the presentations are relevant for everyone and are then presented in the plenary hall.

- In addition to Elesco members, we also invite some HUB workshops, which are important partners, says Unes.

Many work alone and the importance of meeting colleagues and sharing experiences is highly prioritised

Elesco sees that the service market is moving in a positive direction.

- We notice an increased interest in repair, and that is in line with the green shift. Our chain is equipped for several types of service, says Hamer

Flush mounting becomes a new service

More and more hobs are flush mounted, and this creates challenges during service, as the plates must be removed. During the gathering, a course in refrigeration technology and flush mounting of hobs was also arranged this year.

- Flush mounting of hobs is a particular craft, and not everyone wants to do this, but for those who do, they can get an introduction with us, says Unes.

Elesco had brought Tomas Werkland from the company Eide Stein AS, which is a supplier of stone countertops.

- Wooden countertops move in relation to humidity throughout the year, so if you want flush mounting, we recommend stone countertops, says Werkland.

The type of sealant and colour is also important.

- Silicone sealant should be used and in black colour, as this avoids the colour changing over time, says Werkland.

Good mix of professional and social

- The social aspect is important. Many work alone, and the importance of meeting colleagues and sharing experiences is highly prioritised, says Hamer.

In addition to the professional aspect, a treasure hunt was also organised with a total of 21 teams.

- We have put together teams with participants from different workshops and suppliers, who together will solve tasks. It is useful learning, says Unes.

The chairman of the board had made a small change this year, which was spontaneously launched from the stage at the end of Friday.

- Everyone was challenged to a 5-kilometre run at 07:45 on Saturday morning before breakfast, and the joy was great when five people were ready, says Hamer.

elesco is considering introducing this as a regular offer at future events.

- people are different, the five of us who showed up had a good start to the day. the most important thing is not to exercise, but to get some fresh air before a long day of topics, says hamer.
